IMP Software has been running a mini-series on the topic of GAG pooling and budget centralisation in a MAT Following on from the success of our live Q&A panel discussion, where we had nearly 100 very engaged CEOs, CFOs and Trustees (available here), we agreed to provide a session summary that gives an outline of the benefits, barriers and varied operating models, which also includes the responses from over 50 MATs from CJK Associates’ Trust Research Group.
This summary report provides some overall commentary on the topics and looks at the proportion of MATs that are pooling reserves and/or GAG, the model that they have adopted and the benefits they have achieved if they have started on this journey, or for those that haven’t, a look at the reasons behind their decision that Pooling is not right for their Trust.
IMP Software provides a specialist budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting solution, built specifically for Multi-Academy Trusts. Now working with 400 schools across the country, IMP is helping centralised or centralising MATs to systemise their financial management processes by removing manual intervention, increasing consistency and giving confidence in the robustness of the MAT-wide forecasts. www.impsoftware.co.uk
